Dear Soi Residents and Soi Builders,

The city’s budget season is entering full swing as it will be formally proposed before the Bangkok Metropolitan Council for its first reading Monday.

I’m planning to attend the 2027 Budget Hack that the BMC hosts next Saturday and will report back.

Among the proposed budget items are a Green List vehicle registration system, 51 new pocket parks, more than 1,400 CCTVs, 30 new push-button crosswalks, seven new piers along Khlong Phra Khanong and Khlong Pravet Burirom and 91 new bicycle racks.

You can browse the budget proposal (in Thai) on the city’s website.

Otherwise, here are news items that didn’t make July’s Sunday editions, plus my August watchlist.
